Nominate your favorite Native artist TODAY!

I want to encourage everyone to take a moment and nominate your favorite Native American artist for the upcoming Native American Music Awards (NAMA). Nomination Selection Process is from April 30, 2007 to June 30, 2007. Even though we fluties tend to think about flute music first, there is a wonderful selection of other genres of Native Music on the market as well.
There are a record number of submissions this year and NAMA has opened several new catagories:

NEW CATEGORIES FOR NINTH ANNUAL NATIVE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS:
Best Native American Church Recording
Best Folk Recording
Best Country Recording
Debut Artist of the Year
Debut Duo or Group of the Year
Best Spoken Word/Linguistic Recording
Best Music Video/DVD
Best Long Form Production With Music
The awards will be held on Oct. 6th at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood Fla.

You will have to create an account in order to vote. The site also has great streaming audio, so that you can listen to all of the artists.

BTW - if you're looking for a hint on Artist of the Year, Record of the Year, or Flutist of the Year , I'd recommend the NCFC's very own, Mary Youngblood and "Dance with the Wind", which is Mary's Grammy award winning album (and I think it's her best album to date).
