New Online Guitar, Keyboard and Drum lessons from iVideosong.com

I just discovered this very cool, online music lesson site. They offer guitar, keyboard and drum (drumkit) lessons. It's all pop music, but I love the concept. They are compiling a catalog of video lessons for songs, where you learn the song by watching how the chords are played. It's ingenious, and it looks like its got some really good backing. If you've every struggled to learn to play a song by listening to the CD, this will be a huge help. The lessons are well thought out and presented.

Survival Tip: Starting a Fire

The Gift of Vernon

I uploaded a video from the Loping Wolf performance at Auburn Unity Church in September, 2007. This is a song, titled "The Gift of Vernon", which I wrote in memory of Vernon Peckover, my first hospice patient. Vernon and I become friends during his final months at Palo Alto VA Hospice. He was a wonderful man and I was fortunate to share the end of his life with RuthiE Nielson who was his hospice nurse before his transfer to Palo Alto, and who supported me during my time with him. If you know RuthiE then you know what a great champion she is for flute music in Hospice. Thank you Ruthie!

Ancient Music for a New Generation - Xavier Quijas Yxayotl

Most of you in the Bay Clan know that Xavier is playing in the bay area this Friday night (Sept 28th). If you haven't seen Xavier before, and are curious if you'd like his music, here's a chance to sample his music before the event this Friday (view the YouTube video below).
